Award Winners
We are pleased to announce the winners of the Whitbread Action Earth Awards 2002/2003. Awards were made for the most colourful project, the most unusual project, the project involving the highest number of young people aged 16-25. and the project that did most to promote sustainability.

Survey Winner
Thanks to everyone who returned their Volunteer Survey sheet. All the forms were entered in a draw, and the lucky winner is Bethan Williamson from Cardiff, who gets £50 in Whitbread Leisure Vouchers.

We've Reached Our Target!
There's been a fantastic response to this year's campaign, and this week we've achieved our target of 750 projects (that's 150 more than last year!). This means that we're not able to offer any more grants this year, although anyone who'd like to receive any of our free publicity materials is encouraged to get in touch.

Everyone's a Winner!
Projects led by and involving young people aged 16-25 were invited to apply for one of 10 enhanced grants of £100. We had 20 groups applying, and Whitbread have generously offered to give them ALL the enhanced grant.

Scottish Launch
Alasdair Hutton, OBE, and Robin Harper, MSP (Green) will be joining
students and local residents for the launch of Whitbread Action Earth Scotland 2003 on Wednesday 29th January at Roley's Community Wood in Currie, Edinburgh.

Campaign Assistants for Scotland & Wales appointed
We've appointed two new people to help run the campaign. Purni Morell will be dealing with Scottish projects, and Debbie Gray is responsible for those in Wales. You can find their contact details on the Contact Us page.
What we achieved in 2001~2002
- Record 606 projects registered in total (target 600)
- 461 Projects registered in England
- 79 Projects registered in Scotland
- 62 Projects registered in Wales
- 4 International Projects
- A total of 10,712 volunteers took part
- Full England, Scotland & Wales coverage was achieved
- All those that have returned Feedback Forms wished to take part again
- Highest level of media coverage so far achieved
