Barn Owl Box Repairs
Where? Bradfield
When? Tuesday 4th February 2003
What's it about? Repairing damaged boxes of the many erected by the project over the last 8 years, to attempt to increase the barn owl population.
Where's it happening? Rushall Manor Farm, Back Lane, Bradfield
What will volunteers do? Recover and repair weather damaged barn owl boxes before returning them to barn owl nesting areas. Repairs will involve basic woodwork and re-felting.
What to wear/bring: Suitable warm clothing, lunch.
What will be provided: Tools, gloves and a team leader.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Yes
Any restrictions? Not suitable for dogs.

Hedge Planting/Hedgerow Restoration
Where? Kintbury
When? Sunday 16th February 2003
What's it about? Hedgerows are one of the countryside's most important features. They are rich in wildlife. We will be coppicing and gapping up a hedgerow on Holt Lodge Farm.
Where's it happening? Holt Lodge Farm, Kintbury
What will volunteers do? We will be planting and coppicing an old hedgerow to restore it to a stock-proof boundary hedge. The site is within the North Wessex Downs Area of Natural Beauty.
What to wear/bring: Lunch, boots, warm clothing.
What will be provided: Tea and coffee, tools, gloves.

What's it about? Involve members of the local community in clearing rubbish from the river Lambourn in Newbury.

What will volunteers do? Clean up, pull out rubbish from river Lambourn.
