When? 5th April 2003
What's it about? Having previously received money to build a pond to allow community groups to pond dip, we wish to stock the pond with native plants that will encourage a diverse variety of pond life.
Where's it happening? Paxton Trust, Paxton House, Berwick-on-Tweed What will volunteers do? Help plant the pond.
What to wear/bring: Wellingtons and waterproof clothing.
What will be provided: Refreshments and any tools required.

Garden Birdfeeding Project
Where? Jedburgh
When? 11th February - 1st March 2003
What's it about? This project will give the nursery children an exciting wildlife experience. They will learn names of birds and learn to appreciate and look after wildlife. We will also involve parents in our project.
Where's it happening? Howdenburn Nursery, Lothian Road, Jedburgh What will volunteers do? Put up brackets, assemble bird tables. Help children make bird cakes and plant wildlife-attracting plants in nursery play area.
What to wear/bring: Refreshments, protective clothing, garden tools, woodwork tools, woodstain.
What will be provided: Cups of tea, materials.

Any restrictions? Mostly parents and friends of nursery.

Carrifran Valley
Where? Moffat (nr.)
When? 5th-6th April 2003
What's it about? To help in the project to re-afforest this Borders valley by planting a mixture of deciduous trees working with local volunteers.
Where's it happening? Carrifran Valley, Moffat (nr.) What will volunteers do? Plant trees in the wild Carrifran Valley. Carry out some repairs to footpaths and the perimeter fence.
What to wear/bring: Warm and waterproof clothes, hat. Gloves, walking boots or wellingtons, lunch for Saturday.
What will be provided: Transport from Edinburgh, overnight accommodation, food, a leader, risk assessment, first aid, protective clothing, tools, materials and equipment.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? No
Any restrictions? Age range 14-25. No pets.

Pride in Peebles Environment Day
Where? Peebles
When? Sunday 30th March 2003
What's it about? Community Council invite members of other local voluntary groups to join them in an effort to clean up our local environment.
Where's it happening? meet at Kingsmeadows car park, Peebles What will volunteers do? Volunteers will work In small groups, allocated to designated areas, and uplift litter of various descriptions, remove debris from river bed, cut back overhanging vegetation etc.
What to wear/bring: Appropriate clothing, stout footwear, light refreshments. Wellies for use in river/muddy areas.
What will be provided: Rubbish bags, some protective gloves, tabards, litter-pickers, transport.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Partial
Any restrictions? Under 10s to be accompanied by a suitable and responsible adult. Preferably no pets, but if necessary, dogs should be on leads.

What's it about? To restore part of 'Old Road' route now incorporated into a forest. We aim to remove redundant fencing, clear overgrown vegetation and open up a through route.
