Where? Plympton
When? 11 April 2003
What's it about? We hope to plant bulb and bushes in the church hedge near the garden of rest. We hope this will make the garden more cheerful when people visit graves.
Where's it happening? St Mary's Church Grounds, Plympton
What will volunteers do? Tidy hedges, plant bulbs and bushes
What to wear/bring: Old clothes
What will be provided: Trowels, kneeling pads

Tree Planting
Where? Barnstaple
When? 11th & 18th March 2003
What's it about? To plant 3 trees to edge car park, sports field at our day centre.
Where's it happening? Silver Hill Lodge, Sowden Lane, Barnstaple
What will volunteers do? Prepare hole and plant trees - probably crab apple or cherry.
What to wear/bring:
What will be provided: Clothing and equipment

Any restrictions? Volunteers will be special services students who attend the day centre.

Silverton School Grounds Morning
Where? Silverton, Devon
When? 15 March 2003
What's it about? To check the progress of a newly planted hedge and protect it with tree guards. Prune dogwood in schools grounds. Dig over school vegetable plots and apply organic fertilizer. Put up more nest boxes, and start sowing seeds for spring planting.
Where's it happening? Silverton Primary School, Coach Road, Silverton, Devon
What will volunteers do? They will be split into groups to take part in various tasks including planting, pruning and putting up nest boxes.
What to wear/bring: Bring old clothes and wellies or old shoes and waterproofs in case of rain. We will provide refreshments.
What will be provided: Refreshments, all materials i.e. tree guards, garden equipment, bird boxes, organic fertilizer etc.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Yes
Any restrictions? No but prefer children under 11 to be accompanied by their guardians

Bloom in Diptford
Where? Totnes
When? Saturday 29th March 2003
What's it about? To enhance the peripheral and central environment of our small rural village and to involve all members of the community, especially youth, in taking an active interest in their environment. Prepare and plant up newly created beds in specific locations using bulbs, annuals, perennials and shrubs to a prepared planting plan.
Where's it happening? Diptford Village, Totnes
What will volunteers do? Prepare ground and plant bulbs and plants.
What to wear/bring: Enthusiasm! Appropriate footwear, warm clothing and some garden tools. Refreshments.
What will be provided: Planting plans, plants and guidance.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Yes
Any restrictions? No pets please. Children under 11 need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
