Where?
When? 18 April 2003
What's it about? We aim to plant hedges which will help community cohesion and encourage team building.
Where's it happening? 33 Old Farm Avenue, Sidcup,
What will volunteers do? Volunteers will plant hedges, build raised beds, paths, pond, bog garden, shelters, trellis, seating, perhaps erect a polytunnel and generally assist physically less able or older people.
What to wear/bring: Boots and stout clothing, tools, drinks and snacks.
What will be provided: Training opportunities and experience in ecology, conservation, biodiversity and social opportunities.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? No
Any restrictions? We have volunteers of all ages

Regeneration of Hinkins Croft Allotments
Where? Sittingbourne
When? Wekend of12th April 2003
What's it about? Building of a wildlife pond within our environmental area of the allotments.
Where's it happening? Hinkins Croft Allotments, Silver Street, Bredgar, Sittingbourne
What will volunteers do? Dig the pond area, line with pond liner, fill with water and landscape surrounding area with plants, tree stumps, bushes. We also hope to install bird boxes.
What to wear/bring: Good outdoor clothing and wellingtons; forks and shovels.
What will be provided: Refreshments and all plants needed to complete the pond.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? No
Any restrictions? Pets must be kept under control.

What's it about? Creating a mosaic of open heath, grassland and bog by cutting back the scrub, mainly birch regrowth.

Chestnut Coppicing and Ride Management

What's it about? Using bowsaws and loppers, we'll be opening up the footpaths for the benefit of the rare heath fritillary butterfly.

Outdoor Clean Up
Where? Rochester
When? 5th April 2003
What's it about? The area we have for outside scouting is not very user friendly with lots of over grown grass. The scout Headquarters is open and we get a lot of people fly tipping and dog walkers who do not clear up the mess that the dogs leave behind.
Where's it happening? Scout Headquarters, Stoke Road, Hoo, Rochester
What will volunteers do? Help every one clear up the ground so that the ground can be used for future scouting projects.
What to wear/bring: Lunch, working gloves, protective footwear.
What will be provided: Drinks, a few tools.

Any restrictions? From 12 years old to 50. No pets.
