Digging It!
Where? Shrewsbury
When? 14th - 19th April 2003
What's it about? To enable a wildlife watch group (children aged 7-12 years) to design, dig and plant up an area of the SWT grounds as an example of good practice in child- and wildlife-friendly gardening on a budget. It will inspire visitors to improve their space for kids and wildlife.
Where's it happening? Shropshire Wildlife Trust, 193 Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury What will volunteers do? Design, plan and build a small garden.
What to wear/bring: Packed lunch and drink, rough scruffy clothes. Good tough footwear an advantage.
What will be provided: All tools necessary, garden designer, 'power' snacks to keep up spirits and morale!
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Yes
Any restrictions? Under 7s to be accompanied by a parent/carer.

What will be provided: Litter pickers, bags, removal of waste, lunch.

Wildlife Trust Gateway Extravaganza

What's it about? Relocate Shrewsbury Gateway Club to the Shropshire Wildlife Trust site with regular members undertaking a wide variety of tasks under the supervision of SWT staff.
Where's it happening? Wildlife Trust site, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury What will volunteers do? Help create new pond and new herb garden area. General renovation of site.
What to wear/bring: Sensible footwear.
What will be provided: Tools, supervision, supper!

Any restrictions? None - our existing group are adults with learning disability
