What's it about? To plant daffodil bulbs and/or cowslip plants in two areas of the parish by roadsides.
Where's it happening? Dapple Heath and junction of roads to Hixon-Rugeley-Kingstone, Rugeley
What will volunteers do? Dig grassed roadside verges and plant bulbs/plants
What to wear/bring: Spades and trowels for digging and planting
What will be provided: Bulbs and plants

Tubs and Hanging Baskets
Where? Rugeley
When? 17th April 2003
What's it about? We would like to enhance the entrance to our village hall by refilling the hanging baskets bought by last year's project and also having 2 tubs.
Where's it happening? Admaston Village Hall, Admaston, Rugeley
What will volunteers do? Line and fill baskets and tubs with compost, and plant with flowers and trailing plants.
What to wear/bring: Wellingtons, gloves.
What will be provided: Plastic gloves, compost, flowers, liners, trowels, planters, slow release fertiliser.

Primrose Planting in Blithfield Parish

What will volunteers do? Plant 50 primrose plants on the 2 sites.

Create a Meadow
Where?
When? 1 April 2003
What's it about? We would like to create a meadow area next to a disabled access path. The area will be fenced using orchard trees and it will create an area offering wheelchair users to the meadow habitat.
Where's it happening? Stafford Rd, Eccleshill,
What will volunteers do? Put in a post and wire trellis up which the orchard trees will grow. Plant trees and a mixture of wild flower meadow pugs and insect attracting plants.
What to wear/bring: Protective clothing and food idea.
What will be provided: Refreshments, drinks, tools

Christmas Card Recycling Scheme 2002
Where? Rugeley
When? 20th January 2003
What's it about? We will be collecting Christmas cards from collection points in the local village doctors' surgery, primary school and local groups to enter the Community Council Scheme. In 2000, enough cards were collected in Staffordshire to save 33 trees.
Where's it happening? Admaston, Rugeley
What will volunteers do? Make posters to advertise project. Assemble cardboard boxes to collect cards. Empty boxes when full and pack into large, strong sacks.
What to wear/bring: Plastic gloves, warm clothes.
What will be provided: Plastic gloves, sacks;, lemonade and crisps; tea and coffee for adults.

Christmas Card Recycling
Where? Stafford
When? From Christmas to end January 2003
What's it about? To recycle Christmas cards based on all the village halls within the county. (In 2000 2.5 tonnes of cards were collected, "saving" 33 trees!)
Where's it happening? collection points throughout the county, Stafford
What will volunteers do? Collect used Christmas cards and deposit them in receptacles provided to each village hall. Some volunteers will be invited to the weighing-in process, and to take their village's cards to a central weighing point.
What to wear/bring: Gloves to protect hands from handling heavy boxes, bags etc.
What will be provided: Collecting receptacles, transport of bags where volunteers unavailable, prize distribution and press arrangements and releases.

What's it about? To take groups of people around Westport Lake, teaching them about the birds and the various habitats they require to sustain them. Carry out a litter pick.

Stone Common Plott - Path Construction

What's it about? With help from volunteers we hope to improve some of the paths around Stone Common Plott, to ensure better access for all. Areas of path have become muddy and require 'remaking'.

What will volunteers do? Cut back paths which have become overgrown. Create new path edges using timber pegs and timber edging planks.
What to wear/bring: Boots and warm clothing.
What will be provided: Tools and refreshments.
