Allotment Health Initiative
Where? Milngavie

What's it about? We are running four days of conservation activity with a men's group from Stockhill Hospital. The group is run for refugees and asylum seekers suffering from mental health issues.
Where's it happening? Hamilton Hill Allotments, Milngavie What will volunteers do? Volunteers will be led through a series of warm up exercises before commencing on a conservation activity at Hamilton Hill allotments. The work will be centred around planting and designing space for growth. Warm down exercises will be carried out at the end of the session.
What to wear/bring: Warm clothes, sensible footwear.
What will be provided: PPE, tools, leadership, transport.

What's it about? Repair erosion to the south bank of the ponds.

What's it about? To work on overgrown paths, poor access to shops and other areas around the villages and two broken bridges.

What's it about? To improve the grounds of Winston Lodge for wildlife value and for people using the grounds through a range of conservation activities including environmental art.
Where's it happening? Wiston Lodge, Wiston, Biggar (nr.) What will volunteers do? Various activities including clearing rhododendron from the woodland, improving some paths and working with willow to create environmental sculptures.

What's it about? The entrance to the village is overrun with nettle beds, it would be our intention to remove these nettles and plant shrubs/hedging to encourage wildlife and biodiversity. Also erect bird boxes that our Carnwath Brownie Pack are making. This area is only a few yards from the Jubilee Garden which was planted last year and the entrance to a local wood used by the community.
