Where? Gateshead
When? Friday 17th, 24th and 31st January & 7th February 2003
What's it about? Community gardening project - decorative flower pots for the residential homes of the Gateshead area.
Where's it happening? Gateshead What will volunteers do? Design and produce flower pots.
What to wear/bring: Protective clothing.

Primrose Clean-Up
Where? Jarrow
When? 26th January 2003
What's it about? Primrose Nature Reserve is home to several species of birds ( a kingfisher regularly nests in this area). The area has become a target for rubbish. We need to clean up before nesting season begins.
Where's it happening? Primrose Nature Reserve, Jarrow What will volunteers do? Using appropriate pickers and wearing gloves, collect rubbish from river bank.
What to wear/bring: Strong footwear and old clothes (appropriate for the weather).
What will be provided: Tent/gazebo in which to change footwear etc. Hot drinks. We hope to provide volunteers with a feeling that they have made a difference to the environment in enjoyable company and, sometimes, adverse weather.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Yes
Any restrictions? Dogs are welcome but need to be under control at all times. Children are welcome with parental or other adult supervision.

Fabulous Footpaths
Where? Sunderland
When? 12th March 2003
What's it about? To construct a footpath in a local reserve and get the local community to work alongside CEED volunteers for a day.
Where's it happening? Sation Burn, East Boldon, Sunderland What will volunteers do? Help dig out the muddy area of the footpath, put down side boards and fill the footpath with carboniferous limestone.
What to wear/bring: Old clothes and lunch.
What will be provided: Safety boots, helmets, tools and equipment. Instruction on health and safety techniques.

What's it about? To continue to provide diverse conservation tasks to young people and adults
Where's it happening? Field of Dreams, Penshaw Village, Sunderland What will volunteers do? Plant new bulbs and trees, clear away old debris, reinstate pathways, trim grass.
What to wear/bring: Packed lunch, warm clothes and waterproofs, wellington boots or strong walking boots
What will be provided: All materials, gloves and equipment, safety cover, supervision
