Sunshine for Stockingford
Where? Nuneaton
When? 22nd March 2003
What's it about? To clear the boundaries of the allotments of litter, weeds and general rubbish. The rubbish will then be disposed of and 'green' waste will be composted. We would also purchase seeds of perennial and bedding plants to grow on in order to make the area surrounding the allotments far brighter on the eye. A small number of flowering shrubs would also be planted, from these cuttings would be taken to 'grow' the number available in the area. This would then transform the area for the community, the allotment holders and those that visit 'our shed' to purchase fruit and vegetables and bring a little sunshine to Stockingford!
Where's it happening? Stockingford Allotment Association, Church Road, Stockingford, Nuneaton
What will volunteers do? Clear the area of weeds, litter etc. and also to plant seeds for plants to be used from the early summer.
What to wear/bring: Warm and weatherproof clothing. Gardening gloves may be useful.
What will be provided: Refreshments such as Tea, Coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Partial
Any restrictions? There are no restrictions for the volunteers, however no pets are allowed on site.
How many NEW volunteers required? +
