Where? Abberley, Worcestershire
When? 28th December 2002
What's it about? To plant daffodil bulbs at specific sites around the village.
Where's it happening? Thame Axe Rd, Close Top Rd, Main Village Rd, Abberley
What will volunteers do? Volunteers will be planting daffodil bulbs at specific sites around the village of Abberley.
What to wear/bring: Boots, outdoor clothing, protective gloves and refreshments.
What will be provided: Refreshments, some tools, first aid kit.
Is there wheelchair access to the site? Yes
Any restrictions? 16 - 25 preferred, dogs allowed.

Environment Enhancement
Where? Trelewis, South Wales - Central

What's it about? We will be planting shrubs around our site to improve its aesthetic appeal.
Where's it happening? Taff Bargoed Centre, Trelewis
What will volunteers do? Help dig holes and plant shrubs
What to wear/bring: Gloves and wellies, raincoat
What will be provided: Materials, plants and refreshments

What's it about? To build bird boxes and erect in various trees around village.
Where's it happening? Walshes Farm, Abberley
What will volunteers do? Build bird boxes and erect at various sites around village.
What to wear/bring: Refreshments, boots or wellingtons, gloves and outside clothing.
What will be provided: Some refreshments, tools, first aid kit. Use of workshop.

Any restrictions? 16 - 25 years preferred.

Clearing of Conservation Area & Installation of New Bench
Where? Blackburn (nr.), Lancashire
When? Sunday 29th December 2002
What's it about? A small wildlife area needs clearing and there is a need for additional seating in this area, so a new bench will be bought and installed.
Where's it happening? St Mary's RC primary School, Longsight Road, Osbaldeston, Blackburn (nr.)
What will volunteers do? Clear a small area of ground in the wildlife area and put there a small seating area so the children can sit in the area to observe nature.
What to wear/bring: Boots, outdoor clothing etc.
What will be provided: Refreshments and tools

A Christmas Scrub Up in North Yorkshire!
Where? Thirsk (nr.), North Yorkshire
When? 22nd - 29th December 2002
What's it about? Increasing the biodiversity of the riverside and opening up the views to the north of the N. Yorkshire Moors by removing gorse and hawthorn scrub.
Where's it happening? Dalby Forest, nr. Thornton Le Dale, Thirsk (nr.)
What will volunteers do? Clear gorse and hawthorn scrub from the banks of a scenic beck in Dalby Forest
What to wear/bring: Warm work clothes, waterproof clothing, sleeping bag
What will be provided: Tools, protective boots, waterproof clothing, accommodation, food and non-alcoholic drinks, transport to/from nearest railway station

Any restrictions? Age 16+, no pets
